Case Study: Equestrian Fencing at Cheadle Equestrian Centre

Fencing at an equestrian property has to work hard. It needs to keep horses safely contained, create practical paddock systems and, particularly at a property like Cheadle Equestrian Centre, look the part too.

This project involved upgrading the fencing around the paddocks at Cheadle Equestrian Centre in Staffordshire. As one of the first areas visitors see when coming up the drive, the fencing needed to do more than simply divide the land into turnout areas.

The customer wanted a smart, traditional look around the perimeter of the paddocks, while creating a practical and safe system for dividing the internal turnout areas.

For the perimeter fencing, we installed post and rail fencing. This provided a strong, clearly defined boundary while giving the paddocks the traditional finish that works so well at an equestrian property.

The internal fencing needed to work slightly differently.

Here, professional horse wire was used to create the individual paddocks. The wire is rubber coated for improved horse safety while still being electrified, helping to keep horses where they should be. Unlike traditional electric tape, the wire can be properly tensioned to create a neat, long-lasting fencing system.

For a busy equestrian centre with multiple horses coming and going, this creates a practical paddock layout that is easy to manage while still maintaining the overall appearance of the property.

A Practical System That Still Looks the Part

One of the things we really like about this project is the balance between practicality and appearance.

The post and rail perimeter creates a smart first impression as you arrive at the property, while the internal horse fencing allows the paddocks to be divided efficiently without compromising on safety.

The finished fencing has completely changed the layout of the area, creating clearly defined turnout paddocks while giving the entrance to the equestrian centre a much smarter, more professional appearance.
