Project Overview

This large-scale land management project took place on rural land near Market Drayton, Shropshire. The site had become heavily overgrown with dense vegetation and self-set trees, with growth extending over 10 metres deep in places.

The objective was to reclaim usable land, improve access and prepare the property for future agricultural or equestrian use, while retaining selected native trees to support shelter, wildlife and the overall appearance of the land.

The Work

The project was carried out in carefully planned stages to balance effective land clearance with environmental consideration.

Tree Shearing & Land Clearance

  • Tree shearing of dense, overgrown areas containing extensive self-set growth

  • Clearance of vegetation to open up previously unusable land

  • Selective retention of native trees to maintain shelter, habitat and visual appeal

This work successfully reclaimed approximately five acres of additional land, transforming the site into open, manageable ground.

Hedge Cutting & Boundary Finishing

  • Flailing and hedge cutting along field edges and boundaries

  • Shaping and tidying to create a neat, well-defined finish across the site

This stage helped clearly define the newly opened areas and prepare the boundaries for fencing.

Perimeter Fencing

  • Installation of over 1,000 metres of perimeter fencing

  • Posts and stock netting installed to secure the full boundary

  • Fencing designed to suit future use for livestock, equestrian land or general land management

The Result

The project significantly increased the usable area of the property, reclaiming land that had previously been lost to overgrowth. The combination of selective clearance, tidy boundary work and secure perimeter fencing has left the site ready for a wide range of future uses.

The finished result is practical, secure and visually in keeping with the surrounding landscape, with retained native trees continuing to provide shelter and environmental benefit.
